These groups meet to dance mainly those dances loosely termed 'Playford' - ie. English country dances from 1650-1830, with a few recently composed dances in the same idiom. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, with the main emphasis on enjoyment of dancing and dances; gentle instruction in style is provided for those interested.

workshop weekend

Each year a visiting Teacher is invited to come (usually in March or April) and run a weekend comprising morning and afternoon Workshops on Saturday and Sunday. An informal dance takes place on the Saturday evening.

highlight of the year !

A country dance ball is held annually at the end of June or at the beginning of July.
